2016 USGIF Awards Program Now Open

USGIF is now accepting nomination applications for its 2016 USGIF Awards Program. This annual program recognizes the exceptional work and accomplishments of individuals, teams, and organizations working with GEOINT. The award categories include GEOINT achievement in academic, community support, government, industry, and military.

Once selected, 2016 award recipients will be recognized on stage and presented their awards at GEOINT 2016 on May 17 during the general session.

Get Trained On 25+ Topics at GEOINT 2016

Learn and be trained at GEOINT 2016! USGIF is offering attendees 27 training opportunities on a variety of topics across the GEOINT Community to include ABI, open source, human geography, critical thinking, predictive analytics, and more!

Each training session is two hours and offered Monday, May 16-Wednesday, May 18 in the mornings and afternoons. Attendees will receive 0.2 Continuing Education Units per session courtesy of Riverside Research, an IACET Authorized Provider and USGIF mission partner in STEM education.

USGIF Confirms Two Keynote Speakers for GEOINT 2016

USGIF has confirmed two keynote speakers for the GEOINT 2016 agenda. Parag Khanna, TED speaker, global strategist, and managing partner of Hybrid Reality, is scheduled to speak. Khanna is the author of Connectography: Mapping the Future of Global Civilization and this is his first speaking engagement at the GEOINT Symposium.

Additionally, The Honorable Marcel Lettre, under secretary of defense for intelligence, is confirmed to give a keynote. Lettre was previously the acting under secretary of defense for intelligence and held the position of principal deputy under secretary of defense for intelligence before that.

Conduct Training at GEOINT 2016

Apply to present training and education sessions at the GEOINT 2016 Symposium. USGIF encourages Members, Working Groups, and Accredited programs to submit your proposals to conduct training. Additionally, Government and Industry have asked for these high priority topics to be covered, and USGIF is providing this list for prospective trainers to create high-value sessions:

  • ABI
  • Acquisition Professionalization
  • Critical Thinking: Within a scenario-based construct
  • Data Sciences
  • Gaming Theory
  • Global GEOINT in action
  • Human security
  • Lessons learned from real-world national or homeland security GEOINT examples
  • Open Source data fusion success stories
  • SOM: Data Conditioning

To apply to present training, submit a proposed course outline to by Friday, Nov. 20. Outlines should include course title, description, clearly stated learning objectives, instructor biography, and POC information.

Record Attendance & Exhibitors at the GEOINT 2015 Symposium

USGIF hosted a record number of attendees and exhibiting organizations at its GEOINT 2015 Symposium, June 22-25, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. This was the 11th GEOINT Symposium and the first to be held in Washington, D.C.

GEOINT 2015 drew 5,498 attendees and 294 exhibiting organizations, USGIF CEO Keith Masback announced during the Foundation’s July 14 GEOINTeraction Tuesday networking event. Among the nearly 5,500 Symposium attendees were 1,478 government personnel, including the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency. This incredible turnout also included employees representing more than 250 federal, state, and local agencies, offices, and organizations as well as strong international participation from 28 countries.

We look forward to seeing you at GEOINT 2016!
