Participate in USGIF's ABI Working Group Indoor Positioning Challenge
May 9, 2016
Location-based analytics continue to transform our world but technologies like GPS are limited to the outdoors. The Internet of Things (IoT) now provides a new level of connectivity between people, machines, and mobile assets. This presents an opportunity for positioning indoors.
During GEOINT 2016, attendees are invited to participate in the USGIF Activity Based Intelligence (ABI) Working Group’s Indoor Positioning Challenge and collect data that can be used to provide your location on the exhibit hall floor. Users will use an app to collect the data, which is provided by MITRE, in partnership with USGIF.
Users will be able to compete by imaging QR codes throughout the expo floor while using Wifi, BLE Beacon signals, as well as mobile sensor information to report their position anonymously. Leaderboard and all data from the challenge will be available at www.geointipchallenge.io for challenge participants.
The challenge is only available for Android users. Download the GEOINT 2016 IPS Challenge app from the Google Play store.
Stop by the ABI Working Group’s table immediately inside the exhibit hall entrance to learn more about the challenge and participate.
