Due This Week: GEOINT 2016 Lightning Talks

March 9, 2016

The USGIF Emerging Technologies Subcommittee (ETS) encourages you to submit a proposal to present a lightning talk on Sunday, May 15, at GEOINT Foreword, the pre-symposium science and technology-focused forum that prefaces the GEOINT 2016 Symposium.

GEOINT capabilities are evolving at a remarkably fast pace, and we seek emerging technology presentations to share contemporary innovations and visions for the future that are shaping how our community uses geospatial intelligence.

Suggested areas of focus include but are not limited to:
• Artificial intelligence for GEOINT analysis
• Augmented reality for advanced visualization
• Real-time analytics on streaming Big Data
• Cloud technologies for storage and processing of GEOINT data
• Incorporating open-source, social media, or the Internet of Things to better understand spatial and temporal patterns

The ETS review panel will select approximately six submissions to present at GEOINT Foreword. Each Lightning Talk is limited to seven minutes with a maximum 15 slides set to automatically advance at 20-second intervals. Lightning talks will be presented from 12 to 1:30 p.m. May 15 during lunch at GEOINT Foreword.
